Job description

We are working on behalf of one of our clients to recruit an experienced Project Accountant to support a number of major finance transformation initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in key strategic projects across finance, systems, and corporate restructuring.

The position will work closely with the CFO and Head of Financial Projects, providing financial and business support across divestment activities, new systems implementation, and wider project reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial aspects of the corporate divestment plan, ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting.
• Deliver financial analysis, modelling, and performance reporting for divestment activity streams.
• Identify and resolve accounting and business technical issues.
• Support the CFO and Chief Restructuring Officer with divestment-related financial queries.
• Contribute to risk monitoring and reporting to support decision-making.
• Support the implementation of the RealPage Accounting software, including data preparation, system testing, and reconciliations.
• Assist in process mapping and workflow design for new systems.
• Work with property business heads on data preparation and reporting needs related to new asset management systems.
• Liaise with internal teams, auditors, and external consultants to deliver high-quality financial reporting and technical solutions.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with experience in project-based finance roles, ideally within property, energy, or related sectors. You will have strong analytical and reporting skills, combined with the ability to work across multiple project streams and collaborate with both technical and non-financial stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience in M&A or divestment transactions.
• Proven track record in systems implementation and process improvement.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall IT literacy (Sage 200 an advantage).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving ability.
