Job summary

ICAEW in Guildford is seeking a commercially minded financial lead to manage a portfolio of high-value projects. You will partner with project and operational teams to maximise profitability, provide insight, challenge and guidance throughout the full project lifecycle, and influence decision-making at senior levels.

You'll be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with proven experience in project-based environments, strong forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong commercial outlook.
• Experience operating in a project-based, engineering, technology or contract-led environment.
• Proven ability to forecast, budget and model financial scenarios.

Your new role

This is a commercially focused role where you'll act as the financial lead across a portfolio of high-profile projects, partnering with operational stakeholders to maximise performance and profitability.Rather than simply reporting on the numbers, you'll be at the heart of decision-making, providing insight, challenge and guidance throughout the full project lifecycle.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong commercial outlook and a track record of partnering with non-finance stakeholders.

You will also bring:

• Experience operating within a project-based, engineering, technology or contract-led environment
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The confidence to challenge, influence and drive decision-making
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
• A proactive approach with a genuine interest in understanding how the business operates
