Interim Project Accountant - Grimsby - Up to £50,000
Chase & Holland are proud to be working exclusively with a Lincolnshire based, forward‑thinking, not‑for‑profit business that is currently seeking a confident and detail‑oriented Interim Project Accountant for an initial 6‑month project due to a significant period of growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting projects, driving systems and process improvements, and developing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the finance functions. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives on improving systems, streamlining processes, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies and proposing automation or system enhancements in line with lean methodologies
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and operational teams to review existing systems to ensure optimal use and delivery of high‑quality financial information
- Scope and implement a ‘purchase to pay’ system
- Develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across all accounting activities
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend and implement improvements to ensure accuracy of reporting
- Provide end‑to‑end financial oversight of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
- Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for SLT/Board review
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external reporting standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- Proven experience in project accounting, management accounting, or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of financial systems and data analytics platforms
- Demonstrated experience in process mapping, systems improvement, and SOP development
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, adaptable, and capable of working independently under deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
