Job Description

At Hassell, collaboration is at the heart of how we work. Our global finance team partners closely with local studio leaders to ensure projects run smoothly and deliver the best financial outcomes – supporting great design with sound business insight.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our London studio. You’ll partner with the Managing Principal, project leads and our group finance team to manage project finances, reporting and forecasting, ensuring our projects are delivered with commercial clarity and confidence.

This role is hands‑on and varied – ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the design process and supporting project leaders to make smart, informed decisions.

What you’ll do
  • Manage financial performance across all London studio projects
  • Partner with Architecture and Interior Design Principals on pricing, contracts, and variations
  • Lead project revenue recognition and month‑end reporting
  • Prepare and review invoices, manage WIP and debtor balances
  • Oversee subconsultant payments and contract setup
  • Support project forecasting, resourcing, and cash‑flow reporting
  • Provide financial insights and training to project leaders
Qualifications

You’re a qualified finance professional with at least 5‑7 years’ experience in project accounting – ideally within architecture, design, construction, or built environment professional services environment.

You’re confident working independently, thrive in a collaborative team, and have a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience with medium‑large ERP systems (we use Microsoft D365)
  • Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities
