Hours: 18 hours per week / 38 weeks per year
Salary: £9,655 Actual / £23,780 FT

Are you passionate about education and making a real difference in our Football Academy students’ lives? Newbury College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progression and Academic Support Coach to join our inclusive learning support team at our Football Academy in Oxford.

This vital role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of students with learning difficulties and disabilities across a range of curriculum areas. As a PASC, you will provide tailored academic and personal support to learners in mainstream settings, including in-class assistance and off‑campus activities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to implement individual Support Plans and EHCPs, ensuring students receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver in‑class support across theory and practical subjects including English and Maths
• Assist with literacy, numeracy, note‑taking, and adapting learning materials
• Support students outside the classroom, including safeguarding referrals and counselling access
• Accompany learners on work experience placements and educational trips
• Provide personal care where required
• Act as a reader or scribe during examinations
• Maintain accurate records including Support Plans, Action Plans, and EHCP documentation
• Promote pastoral support and follow up on attendance and punctuality
• Participate in enrichment activities, departmental meetings, and learner voice initiatives
