Overview

The primary responsibility of the Dreadnought Alliance is the development and delivery of the SSBN Dreadnought Programme. The Build Teams, under the direction of the Alliance Programme Director, are broken down into boat‑focused teams with specific responsibilities for managing all on‑contract elements for the delivery of the Boats into service. Each Boat Team is headed by a Build Programme Manager (BPM). This Deputy BPM position is responsible for the management of the team and is empowered to act on behalf of the BPM via a formal delegation, including cost and schedule accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fully understanding the scope of their project within the main contract (DBC – FSM046).
  • Hold BAES to account for the contracted requirements.
  • Coordinate the validation of the main cash claim for their area (circa £120 M/month).
  • Support the Annual Budget Cycle within the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) as an SME.
  • Monitor build performance through MI review and visual confirmation via regular facility inspections/reviews.
  • Lead all Stage Gate Reviews while acting on behalf of the Boat BPM.

Rolls‑Royce will support the application for security clearance if not already in place.
