We are excited to announce an opening for a new Programme Manager to join our Transport Capital Delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to become part of a motivated, well-established team that collaborates closely with district partners and key stakeholders. Together, we drive the successful delivery of Highways Maintenance, Network Enhancements, Electric Vehicle initiatives, and a range of other transformative projects. Our new Programme Manager will lead a team of project professionals to work in collaboration with our district partners in developing, monitoring and reporting on a range of programmes to ensure that the region is delivering against our Vision Zero and decarbonisation targets. With a secured multi-year funding settlement, the Combined Authority is committed to delivering groundbreaking transport improvements across the region. Our focus includes bus priority, mass transit, active travel, and rail enhancements. As Programme Manager, you will play a crucial part in advancing our vision for a fully integrated transport network in West Yorkshire - one that promotes sustainable travel and encourages a shift towards public transport., Reporting into the Implementation Lead (Partnerships), your key responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • To work closely in partnership with delivery partners, acting as the Combined Authority's day to day representative on programme level issues.
  • To facilitate the successful delivery of Highways Maintenance, Safer Roads and Electric Vehicle Charging initiatives and programmes across West Yorkshire.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working in a programme management / project delivery environment and driving forward delivery. Particular knowledge of the transport industry is essential.
  • Experience of navigating complex stakeholder relationships, including an understanding of political drivers, with the proven ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
  • A technical understanding of one or more of the following: highways, network enhancement, safer roads and / or electric vehicle infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, being able to summarise data from multiple sources.
  • Experience of leading, motivating and developing a team to ensure outcomes are realised.
