Programme Manager – Virtual Desktop Projects

Location: London (1–2 days on-site)

Contract: 6 months minimum | Inside IR35

A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead and deliver high-profile IT transformation initiatives, specifically focused on virtual desktop infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of virtual desktop and related IT programmes.
  • Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
  • Work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
  • Provide regular status reporting, programme governance, and progress updates to senior management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Essential Experience:
  • Proven experience managing virtual desktop infrastructure projects (VDI, DaaS, or similar).
  • Strong programme management skills, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in financial services organisations is required.
  • Experience working in large, complex organisations.
Desirable:
  • Prince2, MSP, or equivalent programme management qualification.
  • Experience delivering projects in hybrid working environments.

This role requires flexibility to be on-site in London 1–2 days per week, with the remainder of work being remote.
