Job summary

Urenco is recruiting a Programme Manager for its Capenhurst site to lead strategic projects, align multi-function teams and ensure delivery on time and within budget. You will drive governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement at executive level.

Applicants should have a degree and a recognised programme management qualification, with fluent English and the ability to obtain security clearance. Proven experience managing complex programmes over £100m is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of strategic projects and manage benefits to deliver objectives on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate internal, contractor and consultancy resources and interfaces with governance.
  • Produce executive-level reporting and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Support the Sponsor and project teams to ensure successful integration and delivery.

We are focused on enabling the sustainable generation of electricity for customers around the world, while operating within the highest environmental, social and regulatory standards.In addition, as part of a strategically important industry, Urenco is now required to support the UK Government in exploring options to re-establish nuclear fuel capabilities to produce reactor fuel for defence purposes.To support this new project, we are seeking a Programme Manager to join our Capenhurst site. In this role, you will work within our government services function as a key interface between site teams and Group stakeholders to ensure effective planning, coordination and delivery across complex programmes.In this role, you will drive collaboration and alignment across multiple functions, ensuring activities, resources and priorities are coordinated to achieve programme objectives. Your leadership will help enable the successful delivery of new business opportunities and facilities that support both Urenco’s long-term strategy and national priorities.At Urenco, we're committed to helping our people reach their full potential. What you'll do
Strategic Programme Leadership
  • Lead the integration of strategic projects and workstreams to ensure programme objectives are delivered safely on time and within budget.
  • Define, monitor and drive the achievement of strategic and economic programme benefits.
  • Develop and implement programme management processes, procedures and best practice.
  • Act as the programme Subject Matter Expert and primary point of contact.
  • Manage internal, contractor and consultancy resources as required.
Programme Management & Governance
  • Work closely with Group Projects, Programme Management Office and Government Contracts teams to establish effective programme management processes and interfaces with existing project delivery frameworks.
  • Ensure robust governance, controls and reporting structures are in place to support successful programme execution.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
  • Lead the production of programme reporting, including status updates, progress reviews, Steering Committees and Executive Committee submissions.
  • Provide clear and timely executive-level reporting, escalating key decisions, risks and issues with supporting recommendations.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships, promoting collaboration and alignment across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and aligned across all stakeholder groups.
  • Be able to interface with the external client, particularly on programme and technical topics, working closely with the project organisation and government contract managers.
Programme Integration & Delivery
  • Act on behalf of the Project Sponsor to ensure key accountabilities are effectively managed and informed decision-making is supported.
  • Coordinate and align programme activities across multiple stakeholders and internal groups.
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional issues early to maintain programme momentum and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate critical enabling activities and specialist support where required.
  • Support the Project Sponsor, Project Manager and Site teams in the successful integration and delivery of the overall programme.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Project and/or Programme Management qualification.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance.
Experience & Skills
  • Significant experience leading complex strategic programmes, including the delivery of programmes exceeding £100m in value.
  • Strong project and programme delivery expertise.
  • Experience developing and tracking performance metrics and reporting.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and resolving cross-functional challenges within complex programme environments.

Security Vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting.In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
