Job summary

Qualifications

  • Level 2/GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Recognised Electrical Installation qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Industry experience within the electrical sector.
  • Competence in using ICT to support teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Ability to analyse learner data and contribute to progress tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of Electrical Installation topics.
  • Supporting learners through their academic journey, including tutorials and progress reviews.
  • Responding to student and parent queries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.
  • Using data and digital systems to monitor performance and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and college events.

About the role

The department of Building Services is now looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Installation Programme Leader to join our well‑established team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will work closely with Programme Leaders, Head’s of Areas to deliver high‑quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of Electrical Installation topics, aligned with industry standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Supporting learners through their academic journey, including tutorials, progress reviews, Maths and English development and pastoral care.
  • Responding to student and parent queries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.
  • Using data and digital systems to monitor performance and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and college events to support student success and employer engagement.
About the person

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with a strong focus on learner engagement and professional standards. They will be well‑organised, proactive, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning in Electrical Installation.

Essential criteria
  • Level 2/GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Recognised Electrical Installation qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training)
  • Industry experience within the electrical sector.
  • Competence in using ICT to support teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Ability to analyse learner data and contribute to progress tracking and reporting.
