A prestigious academic institution in Greater London seeks an experienced Clinical Professor in Nursing to lead clinical research and education among healthcare professionals. This role offers the opportunity to develop a nationally leading research program while contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate education. The applicant will lead their own clinical research and support and lead clinical research amongst Nurses, Midwives, Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Scientists, Pharmacy staff and Psychologists (NMAHPP) at Imperial. The applicant is expected to develop a nationally leading programme of research that will have excellent synergy with existing activities within the Department and wider imperial infrastructure, particularly the imperial BRC.
The Department of Surgery and Cancer, led by Professor George Hanna, is one of the largest Surgical Departments in the UK with a reputation for excellence and a vibrant and international working community. It hosts around 1000 staff and students, and is organised into three Divisions: Surgery, Cancer and APMIC (Anaesthetics, Pain Medicine, and Intensive Care) which are further divided into sections and centres across multiple campuses including Hammersmith, St. Mary’s, Chelsea & Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals and Imperial's South Kensington campus. The Department also has a number of staff based overseas. It is highly multidisciplinary and includes numerous internationally renowned academic and clinical foci such as surgical technology development, discovery biochemistry, cancer biology and medicine, critical care and pain management, and patient safety and engagement. Its overarching mission is to innovate, develop and apply new translational technologies, approaches and models to enhance medical and surgical diagnostics, clinical decision‑making and patient stratification to better inform health policy decisions and government policy.
