Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a professional governance clerk. The individual plays a crucial role in supporting the governance and operational functions in respect of permanent exclusions and complaint committees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, timelines and best practice.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with trust and academy staff to facilitate meetings to fit the purpose and to meet statutory obligations.
- Schedule meetings in line with statutory timeframes and notify all parties of arrangements; ensuring compliance is maintained if rescheduling is required.
- Ensure all parties have access to agenda and other meeting papers in line with statutory timeframes.
- Prepare a draft outcome letter and work with the Chair to ensure panel discussion and decision is accurately captured and appropriately communicated to all parties.
- Maintain a secure record of confidential data which is compliant with the GDPR.
- Clerking experience including preparation of meeting agendas, papers and minutes within time constraints.
- Experience of working within the educational system.
- Working knowledge of a range of software packages including the production of minutes.
- Knowledge of the law as it relates to school governance and the roles and responsibilities of permanent exclusion process.

- Each session will be paid at a flat rate of £175. This rate will be all inclusive of work required before, during and after the meeting including but not limited to:
- Pre-meeting paperwork (invitation letters, agenda)
