Job summary

East Sussex County Council is recruiting a Professional Education Consultant within Children’s Social Care to develop the next generation of social workers and embed a culture of learning across the service. You will mentor students, newly qualified social workers and the wider workforce, assess practice, run reflective discussions and design learning opportunities with universities and partner organisations.

Interviews will be in Lewes.

Qualifications

• SWE registered social worker with Practice Educator Professional Standards 2 (PEPS2).
• Able to work at the Experienced Social Worker level (PCF).
• Experience contributing to the learning of social work students and qualified staff.
• Experience partnering with universities and other organisations.

Responsibilities

• Assess, mentor and supervise learners and supervise practice observations.
• Design and deliver learning opportunities and training for social work students and staff.

As a Professional Education Consultant, you will support and develop social work students, newly qualified social workers and the wider social care workforce across East Sussex. Working closely with universities, colleagues, experts by experience and your team you will help the workforce build the skills, confidence and professional curiosity needed to deliver high-quality services to children and families.

You will assess, mentor and supervise learners, undertake observations of practice, facilitate reflective discussions, and design and deliver learning opportunities and training. You will use audit and quality assurance activity to support learning conversations that create professional growth.

Join a dedicated team that supports social workers from student placement through to their ASYE and beyond.

We are looking for

• A SWE registered social worker with Practice Educator Professional Standards 2 (PEPS2).
• Able to work at the Experienced Social Worker level (PCF).
• Experience of contributing to the learning of social work students and qualified staff.
• Experience of partnership working with universities and other partnerships.
• Extensive experience of frontline social work practice and social work supervision.
