Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton, Lancashire is seeking Development and Production Test Engineer – Electronics/Electrical on an initial 12-month contract. You will support testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic subsystems during production, providing technical support to manufacturing test capability to meet targets.

The role requires substantial test engineering experience, fault diagnosis down to component level, and familiarity with RF/Microwave where possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
• Experience in digital and analogue measurement and fault diagnosis to component level.
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and test principles.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to produce test specifications and reports.
• Ability to plan and organise work according to priorities.
• Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology is advantageous.
• Experience with manual and automated test equipment in Electronics Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment.
• Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
• Generating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports – based on higher-level requirements and information.
• Promptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with the programme, following production test failures.
• Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.
