Job summary

Arm in Stevenage is seeking a Production Test Engineer for a 12-month contract. The role covers test engineering from design through to production readiness, including RF/microwave and electronics test tasks.

You will collaborate with design and operations teams to develop test specifications, support fixture design, and ensure robust testing for new products. Based in Stevenage, the rate is £36 per hour Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Level 4 (HNC) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience testing down to component level is essential.
• Knowledge of RF and Microwave tech at subsystem level is advantageous.

Production Test Engineer

12-month contract

As the Production Test Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Providing Test Engineering support during Design / Development phases from initial concept through to Production Readiness Review and release to Operations
• Supporting Test Facility introduction and ensuring that appropriate configuration control of equipment and facilities is in place prior to use, including generating supporting test specifications and operator instructions
• Supporting testing of electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, with diagnosis of production test failures down to component level
• Working closely with Operations, the design teams, and other stakeholders to overcome any technical challenges
• Work alongside the Engineering Manager in compiling the initial process flows for new product
• Support the Process FMEA, ensuring test mitigations are in place
• Initialise test fixture designs for new product
• Support the design engineers in carrying out the functional & ESS testing of initial prototypes

Your skillset & experience:

• Minimum level 4 (HNC) in an Engineering subject (Must include modules for Electronic Principles (digital or analogue) or Electrical Principles)
• Experience in test engineering in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration, and test principles
• Generation of test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports
• Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level
• Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment
