Overview

Join the paw-some team at Rudie's Kitchen, part of Butternut Box, where we cook up tails of success and wagging tails. We are looking for hard-working dog lovers (and animals) to join our manufacturing team in Blyth, Doncaster. This is a full-time permanent contract with a rolling average of 41 hours per week on a shift rotation (days/nights and some weekends).

At Butternut, our mission is to deliver health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world. Rudie\'s Kitchen in Blyth, Doncaster, is where our meals are prepared, packaged and prepared for our customers across the UK. We operate a close-knit team with a family feel.

Role title

Skilled Operator (also known as Machine Operator / Machine Technician / Manufacturing Technician within us, based in a food manufacturing environment).

Location

Blyth, Doncaster (just off the junction of A1(M) and A614 Hill Top Roundabout, Blyth S81 8HG).

Responsibilities
  • Work safely by following all safety procedures and wearing protective equipment correctly at all times.
  • Drive line performance and diagnose any operational issues on the production lines.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Perform machine/equipment hygiene and changeovers.
  • Prepare ingredients for production and mix recipes.
  • Operate production line equipment to the agreed settings.
  • Carry out general tasks such as waste processing and order packing.
  • Work to relevant standards and KPIs.
  • Attend daily reviews and participate in online performance reviews.
  • Maintain general facility hygiene and practice clean-as-you-go.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous machine operative experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty and high-speed machinery.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations.
  • Working level English (speaking and reading) and numeracy skills.
  • Comfortable working in a chilled environment and in a setting that processes raw proteins (lamb, pork, turkey, chicken).
  • Committed to food quality and being a supportive, helpful team member.
  • Ability to work a shift rotation (days 7am–7pm, nights 7pm–7am) and weekend work.
