Production Machining Technician

Altera Recruitment Group is working with a prestigious manufacturing company that is actively seeking a skilled Production Machining Technician to play a key role in their engineering and design operations. This renowned organisation is an industry leader, recognised for its innovation, advanced technology, and commitment to delivering exceptional quality products.

As a Production Machining Technician, you'll provide technical support on machining processes for composite end fittings and test coupons, as well as machine various metal components to assist production and testing activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisors, and Maintenance teams to drive improvements in safety, process efficiency, quality, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Safely operate machine shop equipment in line with best practices and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all machined components meet specified requirements using technical expertise, CNC programs, SOPs, and precision measurement tools.
  • Contribute to the implementation of 5S workplace organization principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Machining Technician, with strong proficiency in operating both manual and CNC lathes and milling machines.
  • Skilled in using workshop and cutting machinery, including saws, grinders, and sanders, while adhering to safety and risk assessment standards.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Experience working with composite materials in a production environment (advantageous).
  • Background in automated production and/or low-volume, high-value manufacturing (preferred).
