Job summary

SourceCo Recruitment is seeking a Production Technician to join a growing manufacturing business, initially based in Northampton before relocating permanently to Alcester. The role offers hands‑on development across specialist processes with full training provided and a clear progression path.

The position is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity with overtime and a travel allowance during the Northampton training period.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred but not essential
• Hands-on, practical approach with a willingness to learn
• Strong work ethic and a flexible attitude
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Interest in manufacturing and production processes
• Comfortable with occasional night shifts

• Learn and develop across key manufacturing processes including injection moulding, extrusion and masterbatch mixing
• Gain hands-on experience across different production processes
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
• Develop competence across core production processes
• Support training and development of new team members
• Assist with onboarding and skills development
• Provide day-to-day support to the Production Manager on the shop floor
• Support readiness and continuity during relocation to Alcester
• Occasional night-shift periods as required

Pay: £14.79 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Production Technician to join a growing manufacturing business, initially working from their Northampton site before the operation relocates permanently to Alcester.

This is a hands-on, developmental role offering the opportunity to learn a range of specialist manufacturing processes and develop into a key member of the production team.

The successful candidate will receive full training and, over time, will develop the skills required to support production, train new team members and provide day-to-day assistance to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and develop competence across key manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, extrusion and masterbatch mixing
• Gain hands‑on experience across different production processes
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
• Work towards becoming fully competent across core production processes
• Support the training and development of new team members
• Assist with onboarding and skills development
• Provide day-to-day support to the Production Manager on the shop floor
• Support production readiness and continuity during the relocation to Alcester
• Participate in occasional night‑shift periods as required

Hours & Location

Initially, the successful candidate will be based in Northampton:

• Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Some travel support/car sharing will be available
• £25 per day travel allowance when travelling to Northampton in your own car
• Overtime paid after 43 hours per week or for Friday shifts

The role will become permanently based in Alcester (B49 6ES) from November 2026.
