We’re searching for a hands-on Production Team Leader to support the smooth running of the late shift across framing and slab production, maintaining safety, flow and output while ensuring the right WIP levels for the next day’s start-up.

You’ll lead a team of operators, maintain standards, and work closely with the Production Shift Manager to deliver plan versus actual.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
  • Champion safe working practices and correct PPE usage.
  • Carry out daily safety checks and elevate hazards promptly.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and 5S standards across your area.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, support and motivate operators on the evening shift.
  • Support training, onboarding and cross-skilling to build team capability.
  • Help manage attendance, timekeeping and adherence to standard work.
Shift Performance & Output Delivery
  • Ensure production tasks are carried out to meet the daily plan.
  • Maintain correct WIP levels between framing, slabs and assembly.
  • Monitor throughput and highlight issues or delays to the Shift Manager.
  • Support Short Interval Control by tracking progress and acting on variances.
Quality & RFT
  • Ensure operators follow SWIs, quality requirements and specifications.
  • Perform basic quality checks and elevate issues early.
  • Support problem‑solving activity to reduce scrap and rework.
Communication & Handover
  • Lead clear start- and end‑of‑shift huddles for your team.
  • Communicate priorities, issues and expectations throughout the shift.
  • Complete concise handovers to the morning team and Shift Manager.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify small improvements to safety, flow, quality and efficiency.
  • Support 5S, standard work and basic CI activities.
  • Promote disciplined, consistent working across the shift.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience leading a team or cell within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain output, safety and quality in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Comfortable using basic data and trackers (ERP/production tracker/Excel).
  • A confident, hands‑on leader who sets standards and supports the team.
  • Calm, organised and effective on the shop floor.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.

Desirable: experience in machining, joinery, CNC, wood products or lean methods.
