Job description
Description

At Gordon Murray Automotive, we don’t build cars at scale, we build them with intent. Every vehicle is engineered, assembled and finished to standards that leave no room for shortcuts.

The Production Team Leader sits at the heart of our Manufacturing operation, leading a specialist production team responsible for assembling our vehicles day‑to‑day. This is a visible, influential role where your decisions directly shape build quality, efficiency and team performance.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering, acting as the link between design intent and physical reality on the shop floor.

This is your chance to :

Take ownership of daily vehicle production, guide a team of expert technicians, and play a key role in how our cars are assembled from early prototypes through to series production.

  • Leading and developing a small, highly skilled production team
  • Owning daily build activity across multiple vehicle programmes
  • Driving continuous improvement across assembly processes
  • Supporting production ramp‑up, cycle time planning and line balancing
  • Playing a hands‑on role in new model introductions
  • Working directly with Engineering and Quality to resolve build issues quickly and effectively

This is your chance to have real influence, not just over output, but over how vehicles are built and how teams perform.

About you :

You’re an experienced automotive production leader who enjoys being close to the product and the people building it. You’re comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions on the shop floor, and leading a team through complex builds without losing focus on quality, safety or detail.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience within an OEM or specialist environment
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in vehicle assembly
  • A strong understanding of assembly processes and full product life‑cycle activity
  • Confidence leading problem‑solving in a production environment
  • A practical, organised and improvement‑focused mindset
  • The ability to communicate clearly and work cross‑functionally

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy low‑volume manufacturing, value craftsmanship, and take pride in getting things right first time.

Why This Role Matters

At Gordon Murray Automotive, production isn’t about volume it’s about excellence, consistency and pride in the final product. As Production Team Leader, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring every vehicle meets the standards expected of one of the most respected names in automotive engineering.

There’s strong momentum across the business, new programmes moving through production, and genuine opportunity to shape how we build vehicles now and in the future. This role directly influences the quality of every car we deliver and the experience of the people who build them.

Benefits

As well as the opportunity to work with a fantastic team, the position comes with :

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Private Medical Scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Holiday Loyalty Bonus Scheme
  • Enhanced Personal Pension Plan
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Salary Sacrifice Car Lease Scheme
  • Parking Onsite
