Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is a global leader in fluid‑flow technology with over 1,400 colleagues across eight manufacturing facilities worldwide. The Production Team Leader will drive manufacturing operations, plan production, and lead a skilled team to achieve safety, quality, and delivery targets in a sustainable, efficiency‑driven environment.

You’ll implement continuous improvement, manage scheduling with planning and ERP tools, and coach hourly staff to excel in performance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Heavy Manufacturing or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in assembly and similar production/manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of supervisory experience leading hourly production employees, including coaching, feedback, and accountability, while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Proven ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated safety‑first leadership with consistent enforcement of safety standards
  • Experienced in planning and executing production work, including labour allocation and task prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production schedules, ensuring quality standards and delivery targets.
  • Optimize production efficiency, labour utilization, and cost metrics.
  • Collaborate with Planning to develop, adjust, and communicate production schedules.
  • Analyse manufacturing variances, implementing corrective actions to address inefficiencies.
  • Manage production order processing and ensure accurate transactions in the ERP system.
  • Support new product launches and process improvements to enhance production capabilities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members, focusing on performance management.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and ensure effective shift handovers.
  • Manage staffing levels, overtime, and time and attendance through the ADP system to meet production demands.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of new team members to build a strong workforce.
  • Champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor production quality metrics and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem‑solving to address operational or quality challenges.
  • Generate and analyse production reports, track KPIs, and provide actionable insights for process improvements.
  • Verify and address discrepancies between planned and actual costs and quantities in the BOM.
  • Lead sustainability efforts, implementing strategies for energy efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Promote environmentally friendly practices such as recycling and reducing the carbon footprint of production operations.

As the Production Team Leader you will lead our manufacturing operations by executing production plans and achieving production goals within established timelines. You will drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to our high‑quality standards and following all safety and company guidelines.

Key Accountabilities:
Production & Operational Management
  • Execute daily production schedules, ensuring quality standards and delivery targets are met.
  • Optimize production efficiency, labour utilization, and cost metrics to maintain smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the Planning department to develop, adjust, and communicate production schedules.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Experience with ERP systems (LN preferred).
  • Experience with ADP for time and attendance management.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Preferred).
  • In‑depth knowledge of production processes and quality control techniques.
  • Ability to break down complex problems, conduct root cause analysis, and provide clear, actionable recommendations
