Production Shift Team Leader

Location: Cottenham | Salary: £29,500 - £32,000 | Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Shift Team Leader to join a fast-growing bespoke manufacturing company. This is a hands‑on leadership role with excellent potential to progress within the business.

About the Role

As a Production Shift Team Leader, you will inspire and guide a team of production staff, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your role combines leadership with active participation in production, helping the team meet targets, maintain quality standards, and uphold safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Leading daily production schedules across all departments to maximise efficiency.
  • Supervising and motivating team members, recognising achievements and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Training new team members and providing ongoing support to develop skills.
  • Maintaining compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Monitoring equipment, workflow, and stock to ensure operational excellence.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Acting as a key point of communication between production teams and management.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate a team, delegate effectively, and maintain productivity under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience with risk assessments in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with production software and machinery, such as laser cutters or bespoke fabrication equipment, is desirable.

Work Pattern

Monday to Friday, alternating shifts: Week 1 - 6:00 am to 14:00 pm | Week 2 - 13:45 pm to 22:00 pm (Friday finishes earlier on late shift)
