A recruiting agency is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Production Supervisor for a dynamic team in Wickford, Essex. This permanent position requires a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in manufacturing, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to health and safety regulations. You will lead and develop a team while ensuring production runs smoothly during the late shift. Hours are Monday to Friday, 2:15pm to 10:30pm.

Hours: Monday to Friday - 2:15pm to 10:30pm

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Late Shift Supervisor to join our Client's dynamic team. As a crucial member of the late shift, you will play a key role in ensuring production is running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, lead and develop the people within your sphere of influence.
  • Be a point of contact for resolving operative issues within your area and serve as a link between subordinates and senior management.
  • Remain calm and professional at all times especially when under pressure and must be comfortable holding your team accountable.
  • Attend and hold ad hoc meetings and relay appropriate information to team members.
  • Implement any changes and improvements that have been approved by senior management.
  • Study production schedules and estimate staffing, night shift workload and machinery requirements.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset to eliminate errors and lead them team by example.
  • Ensure night shift handover is completed with your counterparts and all relevant information is provided.
  • Daily production scheduling, warehouse support and cover.
  • Assist Late Shift Manager to allocate production and warehouse workload.
  • Flexibility around hours.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and direct senior operatives and/or operatives on which tasks are priority.
  • Coordinate labour by increasing and decreasing warehouse/production departments headcount and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Support Late Shift Manager with recruitment.
Person Specification
  • Minimum of 2 years recent supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Awareness of and commitment to working to high levels of health and safety regulations.
  • Reliable and able to work within a team environment as well as under own initiative.
  • Adaptable and able to cope with fluent, changing work requirements.
