Due to continued growth we are seeking a highly motivated Production Scheduler / Analyst.

Role Profile

Responsible for the internal planning and scheduling of production orders across key departments, including Laser, Folding, Fabrication, Paint, and Assembly. This role ensures that jobs are released to production in alignment with customer specifications and agreed delivery dates.

A critical focus of the role is analysing demand and capacity to ensure optimal work centre loading, supporting efficient and effective production flow throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a detailed production schedule across all departments, aligning output with customer requirements and delivery commitments.
  • In conjunction with the Production Director, release production jobs with complete, accurate, and timely information to ensure seamless execution and minimal disruption.
  • Analyse demand and capacity to optimise work centre loading, avoid bottlenecks, and ensure maximum utilisation of resources.
  • Monitor production progress in real time, adjusting plans proactively in response to operational changes, labour availability, or equipment constraints.
  • Ensure visibility and traceability of all work in progress using accurate scheduling tools and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Operations, and Procurement to align production schedules with business priorities and ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Ensure proactive customer communication: If delivery dates change while the job is still in the office stage, contact the customer at the earliest opportunity to manage expectations. If the job is in production, it is the production team's responsibility to inform the customer of any delivery changes promptly.
  • Identify and resolve planning or scheduling issues, such as material shortages, lead‑time variances, or resource conflicts.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to:
    • On‑Time Job Completion Ratio
    • Lights‑Out Manufacturing Utilisation
    • Planned vs Actual Job Time
    • Downtime Metrics and Root Cause Trends
  • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling, planning accuracy, and production efficiency through data‑driven insights and team collaboration.
  • Work with the Production Manager and IT Support Officer to implement, maintain, and improve ERP and / or planning systems.
  • Take ownership of planning related KPIs such as schedule adherence and DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time), investigating variances and leading corrective action as needed.
