Description

Job title: Production Planning Job Card Engineer (AMOS)

Reports to: Engineering Planning Manager

Location: Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

AAG Defence Services is a Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation based at RAF Brize Norton, UK. We partner with Airbus Aerospace & Defence to provide heavy and line maintenance for the Royal Air Force’s A400M Atlas aircraft within a dedicated 24,000m², three‑bay facility. AAG is a subsidiary of Atlantic Aviation Group.

Job Purpose – Maintain a standard interpretation of task cards reflecting the A400M OMP maintenance requirements. Ensure AMOS task cards are compliant with MAA RA’s and AAGDS procedures, meeting the needs of critical and complex maintenance. Support all areas of production support with knowledge and expertise to ensure job card standards are established and maintained.

Key responsibilities
  • Become an expert in AMOS job card creation, workflows, and template management.
  • Interpret customer & OEM technical documentation and accurately transfer the information onto AMOS job cards.
  • Create, update, and maintain job card templates to the latest revisions in line with agreed standards.
  • Ensure MAA RA Part 145 compliance across planning and job cards creation.
  • Continuously review and improve the quality and consistency of job cards.
  • Participate in the development and amendments of internal procedures and work instructions, as required.
  • Identify and record CDCCL, AD, CPCP, NDT, component changes, duplicate inspections, and critical tasks.
  • Evaluate RAF OMP revisions to define required access, work scope highlights, component change special / NDT tasks, and maintenance data.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department for job card requirements and support with the issuance for specific customer job card certification.
  • Support Production Planning Engineers with work pack creation and process improvements.
  • Provide on-the-job training of job card standards to others as required.
  • Work well in a team, applying current knowledge and ongoing learning to drive and promote continuous improvement.
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external teams to support service provider partnerships, ensuring open communication and cooperation with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure efficient work, effective communication, and continuous improvement by applying best practices and innovative solutions tailored to the project’s needs.
  • Ensure compliance with technical and general company procedures.
  • Support internal and external quality audits, addressing issues and providing solutions as needed.
  • Carry out any additional tasks related to Production Planning and job card processes as assigned by the Engineering Planning Manager.
Health and Safety
  • Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities including being aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work. Including Management responsibilities as required by the H&S Manual.
  • Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Safety Policy. Including Management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual.
  • Be aware of aviation security responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Security Policy.
Essential skills and qualifications
  • University Degree / Diploma or relevant experience in a related field.
  • Must have served a recognised technical apprenticeship or training.
  • Experience of writing or transcribing documents or work instructions would be an advantage.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Experience with MS Office Applications, particularly Excel.
  • AMOS key user level.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet tight schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Energetic, proactive attitude, with excellent organisation skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines, targets, and high work standards.
  • Good awareness of Aviation safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Aircraft maintenance experience in a Part 145 environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical department providing technical support.
  • Experience of using and interpreting maintenance data.
  • Knowledge of aircraft legislation and MAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of technical documentation and drawings.
