Job summary

Continuum Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking a hands-on Production Planner in Redditch to develop and maintain production plans within a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.

You will translate customer demand into achievable schedules, plan across multiple processes, monitor capacity and material availability, and work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Engineering to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner or Production Controller in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling and plant processes.
• Experience planning products across multiple operations.
• Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience balancing customer demand with capacity and materials.
• Strong Excel and general systems skills.
• Confident working with production teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to react quickly when priorities change.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans across a complex manufacturing environment.
• Translate customer demand and orders into achievable schedules.
• Plan production across multiple processes, operations and work centres.
• Monitor capacity, materials, labour and constraints affecting delivery.
• Track work through production and identify delays or bottlenecks.
• Re-plan and adjust schedules as priorities shift or material availability changes.
• Collaborate with Production Managers and Supervisors to ensure plans are realistic.
• Liaise with Purchasing and Supply Chain on material availability and shortages.
• Support improvements in OTIF and customer delivery performance.
• Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Support continuous improvement across planning and production processes.
