Job summary

Ford & Stanley are recruiting an experienced Production Planner on an initial 6-month contract to support a busy engineering and manufacturing operation in Burton Upon Trent. This hands-on role focuses on production planning, scheduling, materials planning and MRP/ERP systems.

You will work closely with Production, Procurement and Inventory teams to keep schedules achievable, ensure materials are available and raise capacity or supply issues early.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning and scheduling.
• Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of materials availability and inventory.
• Ability to coordinate demand against capacity and resources.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Effective communication across production and procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise production schedules in line with operational requirements.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to manage delays or changing priorities.
• Ensure materials, equipment and resources are available to support planned production.
• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Inventory and Supply Chain teams.
• Identify potential material shortages, capacity constraints and production risks.
• Support capacity and resource planning across the manufacturing operation.
• Utilise MRP/ERP systems to support planning and materials planning.
• Maintain accurate planning information and provide regular production reporting.
• Analyze production information to identify efficiency improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and manufacturing processes.
