Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a skilled Production Planner for a permanent role in the manufacturing sector. You will ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full, while effectively managing workload, materials, and tooling for all build demands.

Responsibilities include interpreting MRP requirements before placing orders, coordinating with Supply Chain for requisitions and deliveries, and monitoring job status with production and procurement teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a planner within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with MRP tools; SAP or IFS advantageous.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience leading small to mid-sized manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as back-up for Manufacturing Manager when required.

Job description

Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Production Planner to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will ensure all customer product orders are fulfilled on time and in full, whilst effectively managing workload, materials, and tooling for all build demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and review MRP requirements before placing orders
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain to ensure timely purchase requisitions and material deliveries
  • Monitor job status in collaboration with production and procurement teams
  • Provide regular project updates, stock and order information to commercial, support, and project management teams
  • Ensure system compliance with relevant change notices and current build status alongside Engineering teams
  • Support end of month cycle counting, WIP reporting, and material audits with Finance
  • Identify and assist with MRP material planning business improvement activities
  • Act as a back-up for the Manufacturing Manager when required

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
  • Degree qualification is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • A-Level education (or equivalent) in relevant subjects
  • Strong computer-based literacy
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Experience as a planner in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with MRP tools (knowledge of SAP or IFS is advantageous)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Experience managing small to medium-sized manufacturing teams is an advantage
