Production Planner

Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Elevation Recruitment Group are searching for a Production Planner to join an SME Manufacturing business based in Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Regularly review and update minimal inventory and re-order parameters to maintain optimal levels of finished goods
  • Develop and implement efficient production plans that meet both internal and external customer requirements
  • Assist the Production Planning Manager and collaborate with the planning and materials manager to produce daily production schedules
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure current and future demand is me
  • Prepare relevant reports on material availability and analyse data from various sources to provide management information
  • Maintain finished goods inventory levels according to set targets and ensure all planning activities support customer service performance goals
  • Collaborate with other departments and management team members as needed
  • Present production planning information at management meetings when required
  • Contribute towards personal and departmental targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Required Experience :
  • Previous experience in a production planning environment is essential
  • A self-starter who can act on their own initiative
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively at all levels both internally and externally
