Job summary

Brose Coventry is seeking a diligent operator to assemble and weld parts, meeting customer requirements on time and in full. You will operate welders and other machinery, pack assemblies to standards, and maintain 5S housekeeping to support efficient production.

We value attendance, a safety-first team player attitude, and the ability to hit demanding targets. GCSEs in maths and English are required, with engineering qualifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and weld parts per process, meet production targets and on-time-in-full requirements.
  • Operate machinery such as welders, spin riveters, screwdrivers and related equipment.
  • Pack assemblies to defined quantities and standards; maintain 5S and housekeeping.
  • Carry out quality and safety checks; complete documentation for traceability.

Your Tasks
  • The assembly/welding of parts in accordance with the process, achieving building requirements (parts per hour/shift), ensuring our customers requirements are met on-time-in-full
  • Operate machinery, which may include welders, spin riveters, screwdrivers and other machinery as instructed
  • Pack assemblies/parts to the defined quantity and standards
  • Maintain 5s/housekeeping standards holding yourself and team members accountable
  • Carry out quality and safety checks as required
  • Complete all required documentation to ensure accurate traceability of parts
Your Profile
  • To be successful you will need to prefer completing work of a repetitive nature, in an environment that works with detailed work instructions and have the ability to meet demanding targets.
  • You should operate with a Right-First-Time (RFT) approach and be able to contribute to solving problems when they arise.
  • Working with safety in mind is critical and as a team player possessing the ability to influence other team members to strive to achieve is an essential attribute for success
  • You should have 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above including maths and english, and qualifications in Engineering or Performing Manufacturing Operations would be advantageous,
  • Experience or demonstrable knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent attendance is important to us as it naturally supports the achievement of the Plants goals, which benefit us all!
  • In return for your commitment and loyalty we will offer a basic hourly rate of £12.83 plus £0.30 flex bonus and shift allowance and night shifts attract an extra £1.00 per hour. Basic contractual hours are 37.5 hours per week which can extend to 43.5 hours per week (contractual) as required. Overtime rates are paid for hours worked over 37.5 per week. Overtime can be required by extending your working day/shift or by working on weekends as the Business requires, at premium rate
