General Assistant - Manufacturing Industry

Location: Northampton

Salary: £30,321pa / £13.72phr

Hours: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm (Weekly Rotating, Monday to Friday)

Impact Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton who are seeking a General Assistant to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the print and packaging industry, with full training and career progression available.

The Role:

As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Machine Operators with day-to-day production activities. You will be trained to handle materials, assist with machine preparation, and gradually develop your skills towards becoming a fully trained Machine Operator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting Machine Operators with the set-up and operation of print and packaging machinery
  • Loading and unloading materials onto production lines
  • Supporting with ink changes and machine cleaning between production runs
  • Monitoring product quality and reporting any defects or issues
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Undertaking general production and warehouse duties as required
About You:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
