🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operating machinery to produce concrete rings and civils products to required standards

  • Learning and applying full operational knowledge of the production process

  • Carrying out safe and accurate mould changes

  • Addressing faults and escalating major issues when needed

  • Keeping machinery clean and well‑maintained

  • Safely moving products using forklifts, telehandlers, or cranes (training provided)

  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping and following all H&S procedures

About the role

KEY RESONSIBILITIES

The following list constitutes the key tasks and duties of your post upon which your job performance will be assessed. Operate the machinery to produce concrete rings and other civils products to exact measurements and quality standards.

  • Monitor machine performance and promptly report any mechanical issues or irregularities to the Team Leader or Supervisor.

  • Gain comprehensive operational knowledge of the production process and demonstrate proficiency in operating machinery. This includes understanding all relevant systems, controls, and procedures associated with the machines to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.

  • Carry out mould changes on production equipment in accordance with company procedures, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and minimising downtime. Accurately set up, secure, and align moulds to guarantee product quality and consistency. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve any issues during mould changeover, and ensure tools and parts are cleaned and stored properly after each change.

  • Address faults as they arise, escal­ate significant issues to the appropriate personnel, and follow all safety and environmental protocols associated with plant operations.

  • Perform regular cleaning of equipment and machinery to maintain optimal performance and prevent build‑up of dust, debris, or product residue.

  • Safely move concrete products using plant machinery (e.g. Forklifts, telehandlers, cranes – training will be provided)

  • Ensure that workplace cleanliness is maintained and adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols. Take personal responsibility for your own well‑being and promptly report any concerns as required by company policy.

  • Proactively seek and suggest ideas for improvement—whether related to health and safety, business processes, or cost‑saving measures—and report them as a ‘Good Catch’.

  • Any other duties as required by management that are within your capability. (You will also be required to perform Grade 1 tasks, such as quality control, strapping, and wrapping, whenever needed).

  • At least 1 year’s previous forklift driving experience preferably within a busy manufacturing environment.
