Job summary

DS Smith Wirral is seeking a motivated Production Operative to support our manufacturing operations. You’ll help ensure smooth production processes, maintain safety standards, and meet performance targets.

This role involves health and safety duties, daily warehouse tasks, and operating production machinery. During peak periods you may assist with loading/unloading and material feeding, with a counterbalance licence preferred.

Join our team at DS Smith Wirral and play a key role in delivering high- quality production!

We’re looking for a motivated Production Operative to support our manufacturing operations. You’ll help ensure smooth production processes, maintain safety standards, and achieve performance targets.

Main Responsibilities will include:

Take responsibility for your own and others’ health & safety, following SSOW (Safe System of Work) and company procedures.

Immediately report any unsafe acts or incidents to management

Meet productivity and quality targets consistently

Carry out daily warehouse and production activities

During holidays and buys periods assist in loading and unloading vehicles, feeding machinery with material whilst liaising with the office.

About you

Minimum requirements

Safet First mindset

Self-Motivated, positive, and enthusiastic

Strong Communications Skills (Verbal and written)

Team player with a quality- focused approach

Flexible and open to multi-skilled working and constructive challenge

Preferred experience

Background in corrugated board manufacturing (ideal but not essential)

Previous experience in production machine and FLT operations

Basic Maths skills for inventory tasks

Counterbalance licence
