Job summary

DS Smith Wirral is seeking a motivated Production Operative to support manufacturing operations. You will help ensure smooth production processes, maintain safety standards and achieve performance targets.

The role involves daily warehouse and production tasks and assisting with loading/unloading during busy periods. Ideal candidates are safety-minded, self-motivated and good communicators who can work as part of a team with a quality focus.

Join our team at DS Smith Wirral and play a key role in delivering high- quality production!

We're looking for a motivated Production Operative to support our manufacturing operations. You'll help ensure smooth production processes, maintain safety standards, and achieve performance targets.

Main Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own and others' health & safety, following SSOW (Safe System of Work) and company procedures.
• Immediately report any unsafe acts or incidents to management
• Meet productivity and quality targets consistently
• Carry out daily warehouse and production activities
• During holidays and buys periods assist in loading and unloading vehicles, feeding machinery with material whilst liaising with the office.

About you

Minimum requirements

• Safet First mindset
• Self-Motivated, positive, and enthusiastic
• Strong Communications Skills (Verbal and written)
• Team player with a quality- focused approach
• Flexible and open to multi-skilled working and constructive challenge

Preferred experience

• Background in corrugated board manufacturing (ideal but not essential)
• Previous experience in production machine and FLT operations
• Basic Maths skills for inventory tasks
• Counterbalance licence

Working hours: 39.5 Hours - Mon - Thu 8.00 - 16.30 Friday 8.00 - 13.30
