Gi Group Ireland Limited are recruiting for an End of Line Operative in Smethwick on a 6-day pattern. You will pack finished products, perform quality checks and prepare items for dispatch while upholding food hygiene and safety standards.
The role requires reliable, time-conscious workers who can stand for long periods and handle manual tasks. Shifts: AM 06:00–14:30 or PM 14:00–22:30 with 30-minute breaks; occasional six-day weeks may apply. Gi Group acts as an employment agency for this role.
Role Overview Working at the end of the production line within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The role involves packing finished products, quality checking, and preparing products for dispatch while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Duties Packing finished products at the end of the production line.
Quality checking products before packing.
Stacking and palletising finished goods.
Keeping the work area clean and tidy.
Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
Reporting any product or machinery issues to the supervisor.
Supporting the production team with general duties as required.
Manual handling as part of the role.
Requirements Previous production or food manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable with good timekeeping.
Comfortable with manual work and standing for long periods.
Shift Pattern AM Shift Monday to Saturday 06:00 - 14:30 30-minute unpaid break Standard working week is 5 days, with the opportunity to work 6 days where available.
PM Shift Monday to Saturday 14:00 - 22:30 30-minute unpaid break Fixed shift pattern.
Standard working week is 5 days, with the opportunity to work 6 days where available.
Pay Rates End of Line Operative: £12.71 per hour Production/Machine Operative: £13.00 per hour (where the client moves an employee into a skilled role) Location Smethwick B66
