Job Title: Production Operative – Winding Department (Afternoon Shift)

Hours: 2:00pm – 10:00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary:
£13.49/hr for multi-skilled operatives
£12.54/hr for entry-level candidates (with potential to rise post-training)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Team Lead

About the Role

We’re looking for reliable and proactive Production Operatives to join our Winding Department at NDE. This hands‑on role involves working within a small production cell focused on developing new products and supporting pre‑production activities. You’ll be part of a cross‑functional team trialling processes, materials, and tools to help bring new products to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce small batch prototypes and pre‑production quantities.
  • Operate a range of machinery including winding, soldering, taping, varnishing, and moulding equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and in‑process checks to ensure quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve basic technical or process issues.
  • Maintain safe working practices and report any hazards or incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to support project progress.
  • Continuously improve your skills and contribute to process development.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Familiarity with production processes such as winding, soldering, gluing, taping, and using heat guns.
  • Ability to read customer drawings and operate various winding machines and jigs.
  • Hands‑on approach and flexibility in daily tasks.
Desirable
  • First aid, manual handling, or health & safety training.
