Job summary

The Abbey in Manchester is seeking a Data Scientist to design, build and deploy ML solutions across client projects. This hands-on role emphasizes end‑to‑end model development, from experimentation to production release, with hybrid work in the office two days per week.

You will work on computer vision, ML and AI models, applying regression, tree-based, and neural network methods, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data analysis, computer vision, ML, or statistical modelling.
• Practical experience deploying ML models.
• Strong Python with ML libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Solid statistics and data preparation.
• SQL and Git familiarity.
• Comfortable with Windows or Linux.
• Fluent English for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop CV, ML, and AI models (predictive, classification, recommendation, LLM-based).
• Select and optimise algorithms (regression, trees, neural nets).
• Integrate models into production environments (cloud or on-premise).
• Clean data, engineer features, and validate models.
• Work with clients and internal teams to turn analysis into decisions.
