Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Production Manager in Sittingbourne. Job description
No Shifts! 37 hours: Mon to Thu 8:00 -16:45 and Fri 8:00 - 12:00 (Half day)

Our client, a long established and market leading manufacturing business based in central Sittingbourne is seeking a Production Manager to join their team and take over the day to day running of the workshop facility.

The successful person will be key to keeping the manufactured process in line with the objectives and tight timescales of a metal work, precision engineered product base.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will include the setting of objectives and KPIs. You will organise resources to meet production demand as needed within budget. Manage and measure the Health and Safety factors in a manufacturing setting and take the lead on building maintenance and budget control. Improve processes and quality factors by implementing and developing Lean and CI measures.

Alongside this you would oversee customer shipment management and purchasing stock control, liaising with the Stock Controller ensuring annual stock take is undertaken and performed in a timely manner. Working with shop floor supervisors to manage the running of the workshops, including the induction of new manufacturing staff as required.

To be considered for the role you will have at least 2 years' experience directly managing engineering personnel. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, design techniques, and procedures. Technical aptitude and familiarity with machining, welding, and assembly manufacturing processes. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required.

Annual leave 5 weeks Jan-Dec of which a couple of days must be taken between Christmas & New Year when the factory is closed.
