Job summary

As a Production Manager you will plan, coordinate, and control production line activities, manage MRP-driven releases, and collaborate with procurement and logistics to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining stringent quality

Qualifications

• Experience in production control, material planning, or manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP.
• Experience within aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities to meet project schedules and cost objectives.
• Manage the release of requisitions based on MRP outputs.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to expedite, amend, or cancel orders as required.
• Manage the end-to-end kitting process, including order scheduling and works order release.
• Coordinate flight store activities and ensure timely delivery through the clean room.
• Monitor production progress and address material or scheduling issues.
• Ensure adherence to established processes and deadlines to support business and project requirements.

Job Description

As a Production Manager you will join our Portsmouth team to support our activities within the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling activities across the production line to ensure products are delivered on schedule and within budget. Working closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams, you will play a key role in maintaining production flow and supporting operational excellence

• Location: Portsmouth
• Experience Level: Mid Level (3+years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities to meet project schedules and cost objectives
• Manage the release of requisitions based on MRP outputs
• Coordinate with procurement teams to expedite, amend, or cancel orders as required
• Manage the end-to-end kitting process, including order scheduling and works order release
• Coordinate flight store activities and ensure timely delivery through the clean room
• Monitor production progress and proactively address material or scheduling issues
• Ensure adherence to established processes and deadlines to support business and project requirements

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience in production control, material planning, or manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and production scheduling principles
• Ability to coordinate activities across multiple functions, including procurement and manufacturing
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, orequivalentmilitary experience.
• Experience working within a production, manufacturing, or logistics environment
• Knowledge of production planning and inventory management processes
• Experience within aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP
• Knowledge of clean room, kitting, or stores management processes
• Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience
