The business has recently made significant capital investments in automation, equipment and facilities as part of a long-term growth strategy.

As the company continues its journey of expansion and operational excellence, an experienced Production Manager is required to take ownership of the production function—driving efficiency, developing people, and ensuring consistent quality across every stage of manufacture.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Production Manager will lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple production areas, ensuring delivery of throughput, quality, and cost targets in line with business growth plans.

You will :
  • Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary production team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive productivity and throughput through effective resource planning, workflow optimisation, and performance management.
  • Oversee all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and output monitoring to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Champion Lean manufacturing principles, embedding 5S, waste reduction and process optimisation initiatives across the plant.
  • Manage and develop team leaders and operators through training, coaching, and clear performance objectives.
  • Support the delivery of ongoing capital investment projects (CAPEX), from equipment specification and installation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs for efficiency, quality, and safety, using data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic decisions regarding capacity expansion, staffing, and operational capability.
  • Work closely with maintenance, design, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain world-class standards.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S, environmental and quality standards at all times.
About You

You’ll be an experienced and dynamic Production or Manufacturing Manager with a proven track record in driving growth, efficiency and cultural improvement in a manufacturing environment—ideally within joinery, furniture, or a high‑mix, low‑volume production setting.

Essential Skills & Experience :
  • Strong background in production management or operations leadership in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Proven leadership skills—capable of building high‑performing teams and developing staff potential.
  • Experience implementing Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Confident managing CAPEX projects and introducing new equipment or technology
  • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and organisational abilities.
  • Strong people management skills with a collaborative, motivational approach.
  • Financial and commercial awareness with an understanding of cost control and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
What’s on Offer
  • Competitive salary of £60,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
  • Opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and transformation of a respected UK manufacturer.
  • Modern facilities, continued investment in technology and automation, and a genuine opportunity to shape the future of the business.
  • Supportive leadership team and a long‑term progression pathway
