Production Manager – Back Shift

Location : Greater Manchester

Salary : £50,000 + benefits

Hours : Back shift, 2 : 30pm – 11 : 00pm

A highly regarded food manufacturing business in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Production Manager for their back shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong operational leader in FMCG to drive performance, maintain high standards, and develop their teams.

You will manage the production area to ensure customer requirements, product specifications, and production targets are consistently met. You will take ownership of Health & Safety and Food Safety, fostering a safe, high-performing culture and promoting FOOD behaviours. The role involves driving quality, hygiene, and GMP standards, managing NPD processes, setting and monitoring KPIs, implementing performance improvement plans, and delivering labour and material targets on budget.

You will also handle performance and people matters, lead training and development for all team levels, plan and organise labour and materials, manage internal communications, support recruitment, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and company policies, including ISO standards.

The ideal candidate will have proven FMCG production leadership experience, strong operational and budget management skills, knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and a strong safety, quality, and food safety mindset. You must be able to hold yourself and others accountable while motivating your team to achieve business goals.

Training and development will include Food Safety Level 4, IOSH Managing Safely, Lean Manufacturing (Green Belt), Management Development Programs, Performance Management, Accident Investigations, GDPR Essentials, Absence Management, and Disciplinaries & Grievance.
