Job summary

A global leading manufacturer in West Yorkshire is looking for a Production Manager to lead the production function. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and Lean principles, ensuring efficient operations and continuous improvement. This role involves managing 16 direct reports and developing standard operating procedures. The position offers a competitive salary between £45,000 to £50,000 annually, along with additional benefits including pension and enhanced parental leave.

Overview

Production Manager required for a global leading manufacturer, representing 13 brands sold across 80 countries. This company employs over 1900 staff globally and is actively searching for a Production Manager for its West Yorkshire manufacturing facility. The successful Production Manager will be easily able to commute to Huddersfield from surrounding towns & cities, including Wakefield, Halifax, Brighouse, Barnsley, Dewsbury and Leeds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management guidance to the Production function of the business, which includes sixteen direct reports
  • Ensure the manufacturing process is operating as efficiently as possible, implementing Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing and Right first time principles
  • Develop new Standard Operating Procedures and reduce non‑conformance reports and warranty claims
  • Cultivate and promote a positive workplace culture around Continuous Improvement and quality
  • Work collaboratively with department leaders to ensure process optimisation
  • Develop and implement KPI's to drive operational reporting and efficiency
  • Promote policy and process changes across multiple levels of stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience as a Production Manager or similar, within a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading a multi‑discipline manufacturing process
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles such as Lean Six, 5S and Kaizen
  • The ability to implement change management in an established business
  • Confidence to challenge current processes and justify changes
Salary & Benefits
  • £45,000 to £50,000 per annum depending on experience
  • 8% combined pension (5% Employee and 3% Employer)
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • 7 am – 4 pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
