Job summary

Pioneer Selection is seeking two Production Managers for a high-volume site in Glasgow. You will own production performance, coordinate day and late shifts, monitor OEE, drive improvements and ensure quality and delivery targets are met.

The role involves leading Lean initiatives, collaborating with Engineering, Planning and Technical teams, and developing line leaders. Salary £45,000-£50,000 DOE, 40 hours per week, with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with high-volume production and packaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with production systems such as Innova, PI, Piranha or Shire.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full production performance of the production hall, including line outputs and shift targets.
  • Monitor and drive improvements across OEE, yield, and labour efficiency.
  • Ensure daily production schedules are achieved through effective resource planning.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Engineering and Technical teams to improve site performance.
  • Lead performance reviews, downtime analysis and root-cause investigations.
  • Drive improvements to reduce waste and maximise productivity.

Overview

Production Manager – Location: Glasgow, Scotland. Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE. Shift: 2 positions available – Days and Late. Hours: 40 hours per week. Days: 06:30am – 15:00pm. Lates: 15:00pm – 23:30pm.

Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available for two Production Managers to join a leading manufacturing organisation at their high-volume production facility in Glasgow. Due to continued growth and investment, the business is looking to appoint: 1 x Production Manager – Days (06:30am – 15:00pm); 1 x Production Manager – Lates (15:00pm – 23:30pm). The site is a key part of a large-scale manufacturing operation, specialising in the processing, packing, labelling and dispatch of finished products supplied into major retail, foodservice and distribution channels. Working within a high-care, high-speed production environment, the successful candidates will take ownership of production performance across their area, ensuring operational targets, quality standards and customer service levels are consistently achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a growing operation, drive improvements, develop teams and make a significant impact within a newly established site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full production performance of the production hall, including line outputs, shift targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor and drive improvements across OEE performance, yield, giveaway reduction and labour efficiency.
  • Ensure daily production schedules are achieved through effective resource planning and optimal machine utilisation.
  • Work closely with supporting departments to maintain consistent product flow into production lines.
  • Lead performance reviews, root cause investigations and downtime analysis to improve operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maximise productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with traceability requirements, GMP standards, allergen controls and food safety procedures.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Managers and Line Leaders to build a strong team structure and succession pipeline.
  • Utilise production data and systems to monitor, challenge and report on KPIs; represent the production function in daily review meetings.
  • Drive improvements to ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) customer service levels are consistently achieved.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Engineering and Technical teams to improve site performance.
Systems
  • Experience using production systems including Innova, PI, Piranha and Shire to monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or other highly regulated environments.
  • Background managing high-volume production or packing operations.
  • Experience with automated production lines and packaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of production systems such as Innova, PI, Piranha or Shire.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working with Engineering, Technical and Planning teams.
The Package
  • Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Two positions available: 1 x Day Shift; 1 x Late Shift.
  • 40-hour working week.
