JOB TITLE: Production Manager

REPORTING TO: Steve Wisbey, The Managing Director

LOCATION: NIC Instruments Ltd, Folkestone, Kent CT19 5NF

The appointee will be based at NIC Instruments Ltd

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

NIC Instruments designs and manufactures high risk search equipment and bomb disposal equipment including products such as robots. Based in Folkestone Kent, and established over 70 years, the company ships worldwide to some of the most inhospitable war-torn places in the world.

We are now looking for a new Production Manager to lead the manufacturing staff and take our production systems to the next level.

The right candidate will be a quick learner, a team player, and have a range of the following skills and qualifications:

You must have the right to work in the UK and not require any form of VISA sponsorship. Applicants on a spouse dependant VISA will not be entertained for this role.

  • Overall: Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook essential
  • Experience organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assemblies
  • A strategic thinker, who looks forward in the planning process, with a constant strive to continuously improve the production systems
  • A desire to constantly learn and actively partake in their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Applicant must already have the right to work permanently in the UK
  • Experience:
  • Experience organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assemblies
  • Experience with CNC machine tools
  • Experience in using and implementing production planning software
  • Managing a team of 10-15 staff
  • Experience in appraising staff and carrying out staff reviews
  • Experience with ISO9001
  • Qualifications:
  • At least an HND, preferably a degree, in a related engineering or manufacturing subject

Salary is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. NIC operate a discretionary bonus scheme.
