We are seeking an experienced Production Manager for our well established Engineering client. Permanent and full-time role. We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Production Manager / Production Controller to oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing 4–5 production staff, coordinating production scheduling and machine configurations, and ensuring that all raw materials, parts, and components are available to meet production targets. This is a key role within the business, requiring strong organisational skills, technical understanding of production processes, production scheduling and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet stock levels and specific sales orders. Manage production schedules.
• Monitor production output, ensuring stock levels are achieved efficiently.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports for management.
• Team Management:
  • Supervise and support the production team on the shop floor.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Materials & Inventory Control:
  • Responsible for the ordering and timely availability of raw materials, parts, and consumables.
  • Liaise with suppliers and the purchasing office, to ensure deliveries arrive when they are required.
  • Monitor stock levels and forecast material requirements in line with production schedules.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate with the engineers to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, Production Controller, or similar role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, material planning, and workflow optimisation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• IT literate, Excel and compatible spreadsheet software.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Understanding of health & safety and quality standards in a production environment.
