Title: Production Manager
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 pa
Job Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate with the planning team to ensure materials and resources are available for production.
• Lead and manage a team of production team leaders, technicians and operations; provide guidance, training and mentorship to ensure a high‑performing and motivated team.
• Implement and enforce quality control processes to maintain the highest standards of product quality; conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
• Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime; coordinate with the maintenance team to address equipment issues promptly.
• Support and manage the production elements of NPI and work transfer.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the production environment; implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and logistics, to optimise the production process; communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates on production status and performance.

Qualifications

• A career history within production management roles within the electronics manufacturing industry.
• Experience of work transfers and NPI processes.
• A strong leader with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• In‑depth knowledge of production process, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in effectively managing and optimising the production process within the electronics manufacturing industry.
• Experience of manufacturing PCBA assembly, surface mount and through‑hole.
