Position Details
Title: Production Manager
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 pa
Job Type: Permanent

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with the planning team to ensure materials and resources are available for production.
- Lead and manage a team of production team leaders, technicians and operations; provide guidance, training and mentorship to ensure a high‑performing and motivated team.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes to maintain the highest standards of product quality; conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime; coordinate with the maintenance team to address equipment issues promptly.
- Support and manage the production elements of NPI and work transfer.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the production environment; implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and logistics, to optimise the production process; communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates on production status and performance.
Qualifications
- A career history within production management roles within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Experience of work transfers and NPI processes.
- A strong leader with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- In‑depth knowledge of production process, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in effectively managing and optimising the production process within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Experience of manufacturing PCBA assembly, surface mount and through‑hole.
