Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Production Manager in the United Kingdom to lead a growing mechanical production team, plan schedules, and drive targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements, and you will mentor staff through targeted training and development initiatives within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory/managerial experience in mechanical production or manufacturing environments.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, fabrication/tooling, and quality control standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of mechanical production staff to meet and exceed production targets and quality standards.
• Plan and organise production schedules to optimise workflow and resource utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality assurance procedures, and company policies.
• Monitor and analyse production metrics, identifying areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and implement enhancements.
• Support training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Role & Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, fabrication / tooling, and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Demonstrable experience of implementing continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
