We are seeking a dedicated Production Line Supervisor to oversee our chill production line area. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards in production efficiency, quality control, and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting production targets and ensuring adherence to all relevant protocols and procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Take full ownership and accountability for the performance of the production line, including output, downtime, staffing, and line efficiency.
- Proactively identify and address any barriers to performance.
- Produce required products meeting company standards to planned volume and schedule requirements.
- Make real-time decisions to minimise downtime or disruption to output, including reallocating labour, escalating faults, or adjusting production flow where necessary.
- Ensure necessary replenishment of materials and schedule adherence.
- Drive line efficiency and productivity through consistent, correct machine operation and optimal team deployment.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, traceability, labelling, and allergen handling protocols.
- Follow the traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times.
- Monitor line performance data daily and take immediate corrective actions if targets are not being met.
- Lead by example and maintain high standards of discipline, attendance, and conduct.
- Keep and maintain accurate, relevant production and quality records as required.
- Provide verbal and written communication to team members, supervisors, and managers to ensure continuity and clarity.
- Be flexible and responsive to meet changing production needs and customer requirements.
- Support training and development of team members to build a more capable and autonomous workforce.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding basic English (essential for health & safety, traceability, and quality control).
- Basic numeracy skills.
- Attentive to detail.
- Experience in processing food items quickly, cleanly, and efficiently in a production line team.
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment.
- Flexible, adaptable, and keen to learn.
- Ability to learn and implement new information quickly.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Accreditation in Food Hygiene at minimum level 2.
