We have a great opportunity for a Production Leader to join our site at Bishop Auckland. You will work closely with the Production Manager and other internal teams to drive continuous improvement across the site. Your focus will be on maximising the efficiency of production operations, developing and engaging team members and fostering a culture of lean thinking and operational excellence.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours – no fixed shift.

Your Mission at Elis
  • Oversee daily operations within Elis hospitality processing centre ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of linens, towels and uniforms.
  • Lead and manage the production team to consistently meet key performance indicators (KPIs) including quality standards (less than 3% reject rate) and delivery performance (over 98% OTIF).
  • Work collaboratively with local account managers to maintain exceptional service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion continuous improvement by applying LEAN Six Sigma and digital tools such as RFID and online stock management systems to enhance productivity and hygiene.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and maintain ISO‑standard operational practices in a high‑volume customer‑focused environment.
  • Flexibly manage resources to respond to urgent client demands including national campaigns and seasonal peaks in the hospitality sector.
What will make you stand out
  • Proven leadership experience in a production or operational environment ideally within textiles, hospitality or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma.
  • Excellent communication and decision‑making skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
  • IOSH-qualified with strong literacy and numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Adaptable and proactive, able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) with a solid background in managing performance, absence and operational KPIs.
