Job summary

Catering is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing team responsible for assembling electrical and electronic systems for high-tech scientific instrumentation. You will work from technical drawings and wiring diagrams to deliver complex assemblies.

The role includes control cabinet assembly, cable making, terminal installation, crimping and soldering, plus refurbishment and upgrades of existing instrumentation. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Electrical/electro-mechanical engineering background with qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive workshop/manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Excellent soldering skills with high-density connectors.
  • Experience in cable making, crimping and terminal installation.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and PCB schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and practical assembly skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems for high-tech instrumentation from drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform control cabinet assembly, cable making, terminal installation, crimping and soldering.
  • Refurbish and upgrade existing instrumentation.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding and travel to customer sites as needed.
